Join the Greater Irvine Chamber for our next Business Advocacy Speakers Series, a special opportunity for business and community leaders to hear from Dr. Tara Lynn Gray, Director of the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) on state initiatives aimed at enabling small businesses to succeed in the state.
Director Gray represents California’s 4.2 million small businesses within the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. Under her leadership, CalOSBA has advanced Governor Newsom’s “California for All” vision by strengthening the state’s small business ecosystem and prioritizing equity and inclusion. Director Gray has overseen 14 programs and directed nearly $5.3 billion in state resources to support small businesses.
Before her appointment, she served as CEO of the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce and its Foundation, leading initiatives like “Betting Big on Small Businesses Owned by Women and People of Color,” the Clean Shared Mobility Network, and economic mobility programs across California’s Central Valley.
Director Gray has received numerous honors, including the 2025 Gwen Moore Economic Advancement Award, the 2025 Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce Small Business Champion Award, and the 2024 National Small Business Alliance Advocate of the Year Award.

Speakers provide insight on issues and projects affecting businesses, members, and residents in greater Irvine.
