Name: Harassment, Discrimination, and Abusive Conduct Prevention Training (Spanish)
Date: September 11, 2019
Time: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM PDT
Event Description:
Harassment, discrimination, and abusive conduct (HDA) are not issues that should be taken lightly. It is imperative that all employees with supervisory functions know and understand the law and how these types of behaviors impact the workplace. This course discusses the important elements of carefully and correctly handling harassment issues and complaints. We will review the legal definitions of sexual harassment, employment discrimination and abusive conduct. Participants will learn how to appropriately handle harassment complaints, discuss the negative impact of these conducts in the workplace and management’s legal obligations when it comes to dealing with these issues. Using case studies and group discussions, this AB-1825, AB-2053, and SB-1343 compliant workshop explores the consequences of harassment, discrimination, and abusive conduct on the individual and the organization. California state law mandates that employees who perform supervisory functions in a company with 5 or more employees participate in harassment, discrimination, and abusive conduct prevention training within six (6) months of taking the position and every two (2) years thereafter. Even if you don’t have 5 employees or do business in California, training is important. Every company needs those that are in supervisory functions who know the law.
