We Just Received a Discrimination/Harassment Complaint. Now What Do We Do?

Join SCORE in person on Wednesday, June 18, at 4:00 p.m. for a workshop designed to help California employers navigate their legal obligations when handling employee complaints of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Learn the importance of establishing a harassment prevention policy and complaint procedure, when workplace investigations are legally required, how to choose the right investigator, and the essential steps to conducting a prompt, thorough, and impartial investigation. You'll walk away with practical checklists and compliance tips to strengthen your workplace practices and minimize legal risk.
Presented by Shawn Larry. Shawn is a seasoned HR and legal compliance professional with over two decades of experience supporting California employers in both public and private sectors. He holds a Juris Doctorate in Law, is a California-Licensed Investigator, a Certified Mediator, and has earned dual certifications in HR (SPHR & IPMA-SCP).
He has led HR departments, negotiated labor contracts, conducted hundreds of legally compliant workplace investigations, and served as an EEO Officer and grievance advocate in unionized settings. Shawn’s balanced, practical approach empowers organizations to navigate complex complaints, compliance issues, and workforce disputes with clarity and confidence.
