About Us

The Irvine Theater Company (ITC) is a civic-minded arts organization dedicated to building a new kind of cultural home for Irvine—one that reflects the city’s innovation, diversity, and commitment to community.

ITC is developing the Irvine Theater Complex, a next-generation performing arts destination planned for the Great Park’s Cultural Terrace West. The vision includes an immersive mainstage known as the Theater of Tomorrow, a community Black Box theater, an outdoor amphitheatre, and a publicly accessible Digital Arts Garden. Together, these spaces are designed to serve Irvine residents throughout the day and into the evening—supporting education, community gathering, and shared storytelling.

What makes ITC unique is its brain-based creative engine, a neuroscience-informed approach to acting and storytelling developed in collaboration with researchers and educators. This methodology guides both ITC’s productions and its educational programs, helping artists create work that feels authentic, contemporary, and deeply human.

ITC exists not simply to present performances, but to strengthen civic identity, expand access to the arts, and create a welcoming cultural option for families, students, and adults alike. ITC aims to complement and extend the planned Cultural Terrace West ecosystem—particularly by activating the district in the evenings.

At its core, Irvine Theater Company believes storytelling is essential to healthy communities—and that Irvine is ready for a cultural institution built intentionally for the world we live in today.
